This Sunday night at 6:00 p.m., Creative Latino, the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico , and Caribbean Helijets will proudly unveil the photographs taken by YannArthus Bertrand during his visit to Puerto Rico. While Yann was here in Puerto Rico for the inauguration of the exhibit "La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo", he took multiple trips around the island escorted by the Honorable William Miranda Marin, mayor of Caguas.
If you've been to the exhibit, you may remember a number of stands in the middle of Plaza Palmer without photographs. If you haven't....what are you waiting for it's spectacular!!! Any way, they are going to unveil twenty new photographs of our beautiful island, all of which will reflect Yann's unique skill of capturing nature's wonders (and man's devastation there of) and sharing it with all.

"La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo" Sponsor's Cocktail
Last Saturday night, April 21st, we concluded the opening "La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo" festivities by attending a cocktail party held in honor of Yann Arthus Bertrand.
There was plenty of champagne, wine, French ham, pate, jumbo shrimp, and other great food to go around. Later during the evening they were more speeches, and again Yann reiterated that he had never been received so warmly as he had been here in Puerto Rico. In addition, the Honorable William Miranda Marin, Mayor of Caguas gave a very stirring speech to Yann. He expressed his profound respect and admiration. Not only was Yann visibly moved by the Mayor's speech but so was the Mayor as well.
Another highlight of the evening was Yann receiving a medal for his work from UNESCO, to which Yann joked "I've been working with UNESCO for fifteen years and this is the first time I've even met someone from there."

Final inauguration videos from "La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo"
Finally, we have processed the last of the video from the inauguration ceremony. In the first of these videos, we present the conclusion of the Honorable William Miranda Marin's speech. The Mayor included a really nice gesture during this portion of his speech. He had an honor student, Christian Dongier Alejandro (my apologies to Christian for screwing up his name, if he or someone who knows him can correct me please do so in the comments) from the Colegio Catolica de Notre Dame, share a message directed to Yann Arthus Bertrand in French. Look for that around 6:03 into the video.
And for the "pièce de résistance", we present to you Yann Arthus Bertrand's speech, which concluded the inauguration ceremony. While I only met him briefly, from his actions, his sentiments, and his commitment to the environment, Yann seems like a really great person. His passion for sharing these photographs and the messages associated with them should be an inspiration for everyone.

More videos for "La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo"
First, I found these videos in the process of posting our videos on YouTube. They were created by the producers of the exhibition, Creative Latino and Latitude 18. The first is a promotional video that gives a nice background for the event:
The next video is the 30 second television spot that many of you might have seen on Telemundo. It has some of the original sponsors for the event, but was never updated to include us and many other sponsors.
Finally, in our continuing coverage of the inauguration of the event, here is part one, of three, of the inauguration speech by the Honorable William Miranda Marin, mayor of the Autonomous Municipality of Caguas, host city for the event. Why three parts? First, hey he's an active politician, need I say more. Second, however, he really had a nice message that was worth saying and hearing. Third, YouTube has a limit for videos of ten minutes (remember active politician). Fourth, the final part is short and it contains just Yahnn Arthus Bertrand's speech.
Here's who is cooking up other interesting things in Puerto Rico...
